This is the worst thing that could ever happen to a parent. It is a sad and heart throbbing incident happened in Murray, KY on Nov 12, 2010. Twin sisters Archana and Arpana Gambiraopet doing their MS in Chemistry at Murray University, KY have met with an accident involving a truck.Friday late night Arpana succumbed at the hospital. Archana is in a critical condition at Vanderbilt Medical Centre Trauma unit. She had a surgery done on Saturday morning, but due to the major injury to the spinal cord she has been paralyzed below her shoulders.
We are very thankful to Telugu Association of North America (TANA) for helping us in getting Arpana’s body to their parents in Hyderabad.
We know that there is nothing anyone can do to lighten their parents heart, but we can help them to meet their medical expenses. As they were to graduate this December, they did not renew their health insurance.
We humbly request you to generously donate for this noble cause. We greatly appreciate every contribution you make.

Dear All,
I wish to inform you all that my daughter Archana Gambiraopet will be graduating on 10th December 2011 and she will also be accepting her twin sister Arpana’s Masters Degree (posthumously) on the same day. It will be a very important occasion in her life. They both have been inspiration to all.In life and after life Arpana has achieved highest most of us may not be able with all the years given to us. Archana will do so and more for the rest of her life.
Today, I would like to share with you a heartwarming news which was conveyed to us by Mr. Sidney Carthell Multi Cultural Affairs Director, Murray State University (the university where they both did their Masters in Chemistry) will be naming a student award “Arpana & Archana Gambiraopet Campus Impact Award” in their honor during the University’s Annual Diversity Achievement Awards Reception on Friday, April 13, 2012. Subsequently thereafter every year Archana will give away this award to one of the eligible outstanding students. This is a great honor anybody could give it to their parents.
